Croydon Almshouses prides itself on being an excellent employer.
Earlier this year, as we do every year, we instructed Birdsong Charity Consulting to conduct an independent Staff Satisfaction Survey, to understand staff members’ experience of working at Croydon Almshouses.
Creating an open and safe workplace for our team is especially important to us.
Ensuring that we provide an environment that allows our staff to thrive helps us to provide the best possible outcomes for our residents and local community.
Our survey focused on some key areas including communication & leadership, wellbeing, and training & development.
We’re delighted to share some of the findings of our survey:
100% of staff state:
• there is effective communication within their team
• the charity makes the best of their abilities
• they are happy with development opportunities available
92% of staff state:
• the charity acts fairly in its dealings with everyone
• the charity makes the best use of its resources
• they are well informed about what’s happening within the charity
Croydon Almshouses consistently scores above the Charity Pulse benchmark and have done so again in 2025.
