Life at Croydon Almshouses
Life at Croydon Almshouses is centred around three impact outcomes: increasing wellbeing, reducing loneliness and enabling people to manage their own lives.
Across our two almshouses, we support residents to live independently, make their own choices and enjoy opportunities to connect with others and take part in community life in a way that works for them.

How We Support Our Residents
Our Wellbeing Team offers preventative and responsive assistance and interventions to support residents in living safely and independently, both within the almshouses and in the wider community. The principles person-centred, dynamic and holistic underpin our approach to working in partnership with our residents.
Assistance and Interventions
Our Wellbeing Team are available to support residents with day-to-day tasks which enable them to live independently.
Wellbeing Plans
Our Wellbeing Team work in partnership with residents to identify goals which, when worked towards, will support them in leading meaningful and fulfilled lives.
Regular Check-ins
Residents can choose how often they would like the Wellbeing Team to contact them, to touch base, maintain connection and remind them that we are available.
Befriending
Residents pay a Weekly Maintenance Contribution (calculated on a monthly basis), which is set in line with Local Authority Housing Allowance Rates and pay for their own Council Tax, telephone, internet and electricity.
We offer a varied Activities & Events Programme, shaped by residents, in our communal spaces throughout the year.
